ADICOLOR SERIES -red -blue -yellow -green -pink -black -white
Adidas are back this spring with a limited edition collection of 35 styles of trainers, inspired by the original Adicolor from the early eighties.
Our good friends at www.urbanindustry.co.uk, The Hanon shop and The Gloss have all been lucky enough to be selected to sell the Adicolor range.
Last year saw Adidas release their limited edition series of Superstar trainers as a 35th Anniversary Superstar collection. These where very limited and very sort after giving Adidas a firm grip of the Sneaker market.
With the imminent release of the Adicolor project, this will bring Adidas back to the forefront of fashion and the Sneaker race.
Adidas have got together a collective of people from the art, comic, movie, retro, fashion, retail, sneaker and muppet world. People such as Dave’s Quality Meat’s, Peter Saville, Bill McMullen, Colette, Taro Okamoto, Huf etc. To compile a great selection of individually styled trainers.
There are some absolute corkers in the range as well as some down right ridiculous styles as well. Though with the strength of the think tank behind this project, that is the Adidas base in Berlin. This series is set to rocket Adidas to the forefront of the trainer market again this year.
From the ingenius billboard campaign that Adidas ran in Berlin - www.beinghunted.com/features/2006/04_adicolor_berlin/adidas_adicolor.html
to celebrity endorsements with in the range, and the heritage of the trainer styles to back it. I think there is something for everyone in there. Where as the superstar anniversary series seemed to be more accepted by the Sneaker heads and collectors.
The launch of Adicolor started in early march with the release of the limited White Series, which saw 2 classic styles offered throughout the heritage tier system. One high and one low, either boxed with a set of paints or with marker pens similar to the original eighties release.
Soon we will see the rest of the Adicolor range being released, with styles from the red, blue, yellow, green, pink and black series.
